Miniature Pinschers

The breeding society has benefited greatly from the breeding of miniature pinschers. Breeding groups have seen a large growth of miniature pinschers for sale. Many people are buying these beautiful dogs but what makes them so popular?
Due to the popularity of “toy dogs” or dogs that are tiny and can be toted anywhere by their owners, miniature pinschers have become known as “The King of Toy Breeds”. Actresses in Hollywood have become known for carrying them in their purses. They are a misunderstood breed though and are commonly mistaken for miniature dobermans. There are a couple of different ways to tell the difference.

A miniature pinscher is technically not a toy dog. It is a breed of terrier that was originally bred to help catch rats. It is a working dog and so it has strong working and loyalty traits. It is extremely loyal to its owners and will become defensive when coming into contact with people they don’t know. They are high energy and love to be out and playing. They need lots of exercise and are happy with a nice open space to play in. They are a curious breed and are constantly checking things out. They have long legs and a small body and because of this they are able get into a lot of different funny and cute positions. This furthers the appeal to have one as a pet.

Miniature pinschers were introduced to the US after the miniature dobermans were, though pinschers predate the mini doberman. This does often cause some confusion as to the breed. One of the possible ways to discern the difference is a small patch of white hair that is on the pinscher. This dates back to its original breeding and has helped breeders know the difference for breeding purposes.

All in all, these beautiful little dogs are sleek, elegant and playful. They make a great pet for a single person as they will stay attached to that person no matter the circumstances or the possible changes they may face together. They are loving and have a zest for life that will bring a smile to any owners face.
