A woman who has been caring for a dog left for dead in a plastic bag along a road in Burlington is upset after deputies took the rescued animal and gave it to the original owner.

The Alameda Animal Shelter is fortunate to share the proceeds from a benefit presenting the comedy/ fiction/documentary, “Sniff, The Dog Movie,” with the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society, 8 p.m., July 3 at Autobody Fine Art, 1517 Park St. Live music, cocktails and hors d’ouevres are included for the $35 ticket price, as well as the enjoyment of sharing time with your fellow dog-lovers.
