DESLOGE — The Desloge Pound has two dogs needing to be reunited with their owners or find new homes. A male English Setter was picked up on Friday on S. Harry Jr. Street. The animal control officer said he knows who the dog belongs to, but has been unable to contact the owner.

ROCKY RIDGE — Eight children are happy to have a place to call home. Charlene and Chuck Rook of Rocky Ridge have a full house, with eight adopted children, their daughter and two friends staying with them in their eight-bedroom home.

Females: Pomeranian mix, black, 4 years; pit bull mix, brindle, 1 year; hound mix, red, 3 years; Jack Russell terrier, white/brown, 4 years. Males: Pomeranian mix, red/white, 4 years; Jack Russell terrier, black/white, 4 years; Lab mix, black, 1 year; Rottweiler/pit bull mix, brown, 4 months.

A fire early Tuesday evening forced the evacuation of Park Row Senior Apartments downtown and brought a crowd of firefighters and police officers to Fountain Square.
